YOUR DIABETES GUARDIAN

Your Diabetes Guardian is a revolutionary two phone system that allows a parent or guardian to supervise and monitor the management of a diabetic patient, to maintain constant contact and to provide security and support. This is particularly relevant for diabetic children attending school where there is uncertainty about nursing or teacher supervision

A care plan, designed by an appropriate medical practitioner, is entered into the patient’s iPhone by the parent or guardian. This prompts the patient to enter events or results such as exercise, insulin or carbohydrate at selected time intervals. Failure to make these entries or the entry of an abnormal result will send an alert to the guardian’s iPhone, allowing an appropriate response

The software is designed to handle both scheduled and unscheduled events such as an impromptu session of basketball or a missed meal.

Data is stored on both phones where it can be reviewed using a variety of charting techniques. Data is also transmitted to Your Diabetes Guardian website which provides a backup of the phone data and allows additional functions such as printing, document and image storage and large screen display for data review.

The patients phone also has an ALARM facility which when pressed will send an alert to the parent or guardian or other nominated carer.
